Quilts of Valor Project

Our Red Rose Quilters have been busy, busy! Our members have been making 12" blocks to be included in quilt tops that will go to wounded soldiers. The goal is to keep stitching until all of our combat wounded have a quilt. Latest stats as of 8-5-07: 61,350 wounded and 11, 458 QOVs have been awarded. We have a long way to go.
For incentive, our guild offerd a gift certificate to a local fabric for the member who turned in the most blocks-I think one member had over 60 blocks. She didn't do it for the gift-she did it from her heart. We are hoping to present at least 20 quilt tops to Catherine Roberts on Sept. 11 when she visits our giuld. I think there will be a few more then that. Catherine is founder of the Quilts of Valor Foundation. Here's their website for more info and to learn how you can help:
